How teams work

In 2v2 the four players are split into two teams of two. Turns alternate by team: first a player from Team A, then one from Team B, then the second from Team A, and so on.

The team that fills one of the boards first wins. That is, when either of the two players on the team covers their 11 cells, the team wins. Both members do not need to finish: it's enough for one to fill theirs.

Coverage between teammates

When you attack the enemy and they lose a cell, if your teammate does not have that cell covered, they gain it automatically.

Example: you attack the enemy and they lose their cell 7. If your teammate did not have the 7 covered, your teammate gains the 7 automatically.

Focusing on helping your teammate fill their board by attacking timely cells makes the difference.

Matchmaking

2v2 matchmaking forms teams and pairs matches by league tier and trophy level. You can play with friends on one team via 2v2 Private Match (requires level 15).

Grand Dominion, the quarterly clan championship, is played in 2v2 format. It is the biggest tournament in the game: 64 clans, 512 players, 6 days of competition. See Grand Dominion.

Pressure in 2v2 is real: attacking the same opponent on consecutive turns maximizes damage before the enemy can reorganize. Coordinate with your teammate which cell to attack together.
